The term jailbreak is a term that is used quite often describing streaming and mobile devices. It may seem like a daunting task and you may even be willing to pay someone to jailbreak your device. Don’t pay anything, I will show you exactly how to jailbreak your Fire TV Stick and it takes just a few seconds.
When you jailbreak a device it will enable you to add software that is not authorized by the manufacture, that before would have been blocked and prohibited.
Jailbreak Fire Stick Steps
These steps will work for just about any Amazon Fire TV device including Fire Sticks, older Fire TV’s and the Fire TV Cube. You can even apply these steps to the famous Fire Tablets. The settings will be accessed from different locations on the tablets however.
Launch the Fire TV device and go to the home screen. Press the home button to be sure you are at the home screen of your device.
Scroll to Settings.
Scroll over to My Fire TV and click on it (some older devices might say My Device).
Select Developer Options.
Look at Apps from Unknown Sources. If under it is says ON, your Fire TV device is already Jail Broke and will allow for the installations of apps from unknown sources, you do not need to do anything else.
If it says OFF, you will need to turn it on.
Click Apps from Unknown Sources.
Click Turn On. Now you will see that is says ON under Apps from Unknown Sources.
Congratulations! Your Fire TV device is officially Jail Broken and you can begin to install applications that are not approved or authorized by Amazon and take your streaming to an entirely new level.
I recommend you use the Downloader app, which is a free app inside the Amazon app store. This app will allow you to link to various files across the internet such as Android APK files, etc.
Once these files are downloaded, you can install them directly on your device.
To get the most out of your Jail Broken Fire device, you should have Filelinked installed. Click here for an article of mine that explains how to add Filelinked to your device!
